At just 1.75 millimeters thick, the RM UP-01 Ferrari constitutes a triumph of technical achievements uncomparable by other brands and exemplifies a new approach to watch mechanics in which technology meets incredibly engineered aesthetics.

Richard Mille celebrates this budding relationship with the creation of an exceptional ultra-flat timepiece, the RM UP-01 Ferrari.

What sets the new Richard Mille apart from its competitors, is in the movement’s construction. For the RM UP-01 Ferrari, the watchmaker hand assembled the entire movement (all 1.18mm of it) into the case, as opposed to assembling the case back pull double duty as a baseplate. That decision appears to have saved a few extra millimeters off the final construction and perhaps most impressive of all, that it hasn’t come at the expense of the functionality of the watch.

GRADE 5 TITANIUM

The entire case of the watch is machined from grade 5 titanium, a material offering incredible lightness combined with levels of resistance proven in Richard Mille’s laboratory through a rigorous system of tests. The monobloc construction of the watch also optimizes integrity while guaranteeing water resistance to 1 atm (10 m).

Due to the low profile of the RM UP-01, all the components are machined at the Richard Mille movement department to meet the extremely demanding machining tolerance of a single micron.

The case back and bezel of the watch are satin-finished, with hand-polished polished bevels. The iconic Ferrari trademarked prancing horse and all references to Ferrari are present on the case are laser-engraved. This unique ultra-thin case is assembled by hand using 13 grade 5 titanium spline screws and abrasion-resistant washers in 316L stainless steel.
